If the Division is already closed, you will be placed on a Waiting List (at no charge), and notified of your child's status during the month.Teams are being created in each Division, so you should hear from your child's Coach shortly. Until then, please click on the Division Coordinators tab at left if you have any questions.Gyms locations are listed on the School Gyms tab.General Information: Intramurals runs for 10 weeks (depending on Holidays and snow days) from late November till late February (except 9-12 Boys; see below).1st Grade Clinic: Held one night a week; day and time TBD. 2nd Grade Clinic: Held one night per week; there are two sessions; days and tme TBD.Girls in Grades 3-12 & Boys in Grades 3-8: Teams have one practice each week and one game each week; games will begin just after Thanksgiving. Boys in Grades 9-12: The Season begins in January and ends in late May with the Matthew Giannuzzi Memorial Championship Game & Scholarship Awards.

Reg istration for all Intramurals and Travel Programs will be Online Only.

In an effort to streamline our Registration process and make it convenient for our Members, all Registration will be Online. Family accounts, once created, may be updated each Season. In addition to Registering to play basketball, 9-12th Grade Students who wish to be Referees and Adults 18+ who wish to Volunteer as a Coach or Assistant Coach will all be able to Register on our system.

Due to limited gym space, we are unable to accept new players from outside the school district or parish.

For those players who would like to compete at a more competitive level, St. Elizabeth Basketball has a Travel Program, which is open to Boys and Girls in Grades 5, 6 and 7. If your child is interested in trying out for the Travel Program, please register for Intramurals and check the Travel Tryout box during registration. There is an additional fee of $110 required to play travel.

Board of Directors (continued)Division Coordinators serve important administrative functions: setting up fair teams, distributing schedules and League paperwork to coaches; keeping track of scores; periodically monitoring games to observe sportsmanship between teams and coaches, as well as proper hall monitoring and respect of gyms/school property; notifying coaches of weather cancellations and schedule changes; and handling coach and parent issues that arise throughout the Season.Coaching Intramurals & Travel TeamsCoaches must be 21 or older and Virtus Compliant. (See Virtus for Coaches tab at left.)Intramurals Coach/Assistant Coach: Enjoy Coaching your child's team this year! You do not need to be an expert to coach... we have Coaching Clinics and a Handbook for Coaches to differentiate certain rules by Division. Mostly, we rely on Coaches to:• be fair to their players and to their opponents; • teach players good sportsmanship;• teach age-appropriate drills and skills; • encourage players to work as a team;• and to inspire players to do their best. Travel Coach/Assistant Coach: For advanced players in Grades 5, 6 and 7, we offer Students an opportunity to play in the more competitive Travel Program. Board of Directors We are fortunate to have had many dedicated Board Members serve for more than a decade, and as their children have grown up and graduated, we are now seeking parents of younger children to transition into key positions that will guide our League forward to serve the next generation. If you have talent and time to share, please call our Board President, Alex Cover, at 631.271.9157RefereesEach Season, Student Referees (Grades 9-12) are hired to officiate Games in the 3/4 and 5/6 Intramurals Divisions. We also hire experienced Adult Referees 18+ to Officiate Games in the 7/8 Divisions. (Certified Referees handle 9-12.) Important Information:• Eligibility: Student and Adult applicants must either live in South Huntington School District or be parishioners at St. Elizabeth Church; no exceptions.• Compensation: Fees vary according to level of experience and Division.• Student Assignments: Greater consideration will be given to Referees who play/have played in our Program for at least the past 2 years. • Virtus: All Referees 18+ must be Virtus Compliant; no exceptions. See Virtus tab (left).• Clinics: Referees are required to attend Clinics to review League Rules, which vary slightly by Division, and to learn the etiquette required to effectively and appropriately referee children. Attend a Virtus Course in a local parish. The link provided (at right) displays all upcoming courses. You MUST be Virtus compliant to coach, so please complete your forms and make a reservation online to take the Virtus Course. Note: You will need to take this course only once; just keep your Certificate for future years (and for other sports that you may coach).
